Influencer Christine Tran Ferguson is sharing an emotional life update.
The Tour de Lust founder, and her husband, Ryan Ferguson, announced that they are expecting their second child, a little over a year after the death of their son Asher at nearly 15 months.
“Baby number 2 coming soon,” Christine captioned the Aug. 12 video, which featured the couple looking up at a portrait of Asher before turning around to share ultrasound photos of their second baby. “It’s been such a hard journey getting here & really hard to navigate but we’re so blessed to be welcoming baby number 2.”
She added, “Our hearts are torn with being grateful and also incredibly sad and missing Asher so much. You are so missed each and every day.”
The couple received an outpouring of love and support in the comments section, from Kelly Rizzo, the wife of the late Bob Saget, who wrote, “I can only imagine all of the incredibly complex emotions, but I’m sure the feelings of love and gratitude are the most powerful, and I’m so incredibly happy for you! Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your journey with us.”
It has been a tumultuous year for Christine, who reflected on the one-year anniversary of Asher’s death in June.
“How are we approaching a year without you,” she wrote on Instagram. “We would have had so many more memories together and now I replay these memories over and over in my head instead.”
Christine first shared news of Asher’s death after an undisclosed battle in the ICU on what would have been his 15-month birthday in June 2023.
“My heart is utterly broken and shattered into a million pieces,” the 38-year-old wrote at the time. “I will never understand why, nothing makes sense, I’m still in shock, I just want to wake up from this unimaginable nightmare and have you back in my arms,” calling her son’s death, “the hardest experience mommy and daddy has ever had to endure.”
Nearly a month after his death, Christine shared a heartfelt message to Asher on social media.
"I pray and pray we find the strength to carry you with us," she wrote in part. "It's so hard, incredibly hard. For now, we cherish these memories we had with you forever.”
